[SOLVED] Windows server 2022 windows update error 0x80070005

Hello

Windows server 2022 (21H2) is failing Cumulative updates. Have also tried installing the update from downloading straight from the Windows Update catalogue. Resetting software distribution catalogue has also done nothing. Server is also part of Azure arc SQL but some other servers are installing updates fine.

It seems to be the same issue as the other server, is Bitdefender also installed on this one?

If so disable the Microsoft Sql Server Extension Service and Bitdefender and attempt to update update again, if it shows error 0x8007000d provide the latest CBS logs and a copy of the COMPONENTS hive.

Upload your COMPONENTS hive.

• Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\Config and locate the COMPONENTS file.
• Please copy this file to your desktop.
• Note: If you receive an error that this file is in-use, simply reboot your computer and try again.
• Right-click on this file on your desktop and select Send To > Compressed (zipped) folder. This will create a file named COMPONENTS.ZIP on your desktop.
• If the file is too large to upload here, upload the file to www.wetransfer.com and post the link in your next reply.
