Good morning,

We have had a Windows Update problem on a Windows Server 2022 21H2 (Build 20348.1487) for a few months.
The monthly cumulative updates could no longer be installed.
For a while we just hid the updates via "wushowhide" and hoped that the problem would be solved with one of the next cumulative updates.

We have already done the following:
- Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
- Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
- Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
- sfc /scannow
- SFCFix (Automatic Scan & Repair)
- .net Framework Repair Tool (Microsoft)
- WindowsUpdate Reset (GitHub - ManuelGil/Reset-Windows-Update-Tool: Troubleshooting Tool with Windows Updates (Developed in Dev-C++).)

I am attaching the CBS, DISM and ComponentScanner logs here.

EDIT:
The current update that causes errors is KB5037782

I hope someone can help us. =)
Have a nice weekend :-)

  • Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\Config and locate the COMPONENTS file.
  • Please copy this file to your desktop.
  • Note: If you receive an error that this file is in-use, simply reboot your computer and try again.
  • Right-click on this file on your desktop and select Send To...Compressed (zipped) folder. This will create a file named COMPONENTS.ZIP on your desktop.
  • The file will likely be too large to upload here, if so please upload to a file sharing service.

Please post me the link to the file

Hey,

SFCFix and DISM ran without errors.

Unfortunately, Windows Update still hasn't installed.

Logs are attached again.

Update problems have a habit of revealing themselves slowly, so until you've resolved the first you can't see the second, and so on.

Looking over your latest logs now, may take me a while since I may have to install a German language pack to my VM so that I can source the necessary files and registry entries for the next patch.

Will get back to you as soon as possible. If the delay is going to be a long one, I will let you know.

That's absolutely no problem!

I'm very grateful for any help!

The server hasn't been able to update properly for a few months, so a few days won't make a difference to perhaps solve the problem.
