Hi everyone,

I've been struggling for some time now as I have some 2022 21H2 servers and one is failing to install Cumulative Updates since March.

I have run sfc /scannow, I have run Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth (attempts with and without /Source:... /LimitAccess pointing to an original Microsoft Server 2022 ISO and another attempt using the WinSxS folder on a healthy 2022 Server).

Since April patch failed, I waited until May Patch Tuesday, just to find the same error occurs.

Last successful Patch was on March, so currently the Server appears to be running on build 20348.3328.

I've double checked SSU versions and also followed instructions from this link: Additional resources for Windows Update - Windows Client

I've already tried to run the ComponentsScanner.exe tool, but it says it's not compatible with this system, so no luck here.

Due to the nature of this particular server, reinstall and rollback is not an option, inplace upgrade to server 2025 is still on the table but only as last resource in the attempt to resolve this issue.

Please find attached the CBS and DISM logs.

Hope to get this sorted out as soon as possible with your help.

Best regards,
JC

Hi @jmfcpt,

Welcome to Sysnative Forums!

If you haven't already, please review the posting instructions here, and attach the requested log files. Without log files, our helpers will not be able to assist, and this will slow down fixing your machine.

If logs have been already been provided, our team of volunteers will analyse the provided log files to build a fix for your system. Please be aware that this may take several days from your initial post, due to the high volume of threads that we receive.
