Hi,

I'm trying to enable defender on a windows 2016 server but receiving a missing assembly error message 0x80073701. I have attached the CBS file below. The KB that is causing issues is KB4483229. I have tried downloading this from Microsofts catalogue but it doesn't seem to be there?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi and welcome to Sysnative,

Start the

Farbar Recovery Scan Tool again.

Warning: This script was written specifically for this system. Do not run this script on another system.
  • Download the attachment fixlist.txt and save it to your desktop.
  • Right-click on FRST.exe and select "Run as administrator".
  • Press the Fix button.
  • If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally.
  • When finished, a log called Fixlog.txt will appear in the same directory the tool is run from.
  • Post the logfile Fixlog.txt as attachment in your next reply.

Hi, I ran the fix restarted the machine and it is now working as intended. I have included the fixlog if that is helpful.

Thank you very much for your help. How does the fix we have just applied work?

Hi,

You're welcome. With the last fix we have removed the remnants of an older update which was partially uninstalled.
