Hello.

Windows 2016 CORE (Installs on Desktop, not on CORE)
I have run into an issue.
A component I am using requires a higher version of .NET than the one installed on my Windows 2016 Server. (4.6.01586)

reg query "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\NET Framework Setup\NDP\v4\Full" /v version

I get
4.6.01586

I tried installing 4.6.2
However, it displays the message
.NET Framework 4.6.2 or a later update is already installed on this computer.

I remoted into the server to view the Registry, and I see that it is, in fact, only 4.6.01586 installed.

I tried the .NET Repair Utility, but it did not help and still will not install.

Here is a video on trying to install 4.8.
Showing the errors I receive. (Quick 22 Seconds long)

Any assistance on this would be great.
Thank you.

I read the following comment, Upload your COMPONENTS hive.
So, I've got the Components and the CBS Log file.

Looking through the log files. I see the following.

2025-02-19 12:59:24, Info CBS Failed to get internal update: NetFx48 in Package: Microsoft-Windows-Foundation-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~10.0.14393.0 [HRESULT = 0x800f080c - CBS_E_UNKNOWN_UPDATE]

FIXED
NETFX48.exe /q

It ran for a little while, then rebooted.
Running the regquery.
I get this back.
4.8.03761

Either way, I learned a little more about some things in Windows, coming here.
And I am hoping for future help and assists.

Take Care all.
