Hello Sysnative Support,

Windows Update service is stopping , Killed the task and restarted the service but when run Windows Updates it fails with the following error and the windows update service shows as stopping.

"There were some problems installing updates, but we'll try again later. If you keep seeing this and want to search the web or contact support for information, this may help: (0x80080008)"

This started happening about a month ago. I have executed Sfc /scannow and Dism Restore health commands and they were completed successfully but the issue is not resolved.

Ran the component scanner and compressed the CBS folder and uploaded here. Ran out of options and looking for assistance here at Sysnative forum.
Any help is much appreciated.
Thank You.

Hi @syslog232,

Welcome to Sysnative Forums!

If you haven't already, please review the posting instructions here, and attach the requested log files. Without log files, our helpers will not be able to assist, and this will slow down fixing your machine.

If logs have been already been provided, our team of volunteers will analyse the provided log files to build a fix for your system. Please be aware that this may take several days from your initial post, due to the high volume of threads that we receive.

Hi Sysnative support,

I know it takes a while before I get a response but just making sure that my request is still active.
Thank you for your support.

Hello and welcome,

Step 1:
Right-click on the Start button and click Run.
Typ POWERSHELL in the input field, then click OK.
A blue window appears.
Typ in the blue window Get-WindowsUpdateLog and press the enter key.
Some text will appear in the blue window. Wait for the message "WindowsUpdate.log written to C:\Users\<username>\Desktop\WindowsUpdate.log".
Close the blue window.
Attach the file C:\Users\<username>\Desktop\WindowsUpdate.log to your next reply.
Note: if the file is too big to upload to your next reply please upload via a service such as Gofile or WeTransfer and just provide the download link.

Step 2:
1. Right-click the Start button and click Command Prompt (administrator).
2. A User Account Control dialog may come up asking for approval. If it does go ahead and allow.
3. A command prompt window will open. Copy and paste the following into the command-prompt and hit enter.
wmic service get name,displayname,pathname,startmode,exitcode > "%USERPROFILE%\desktop\services.txt"
4. After the command runs there will be a file on your desktop named services.txt.
5. Attach this file to your next reply.

Note: Your antivirus program may report FRST incorrectly as an infection. If so, disable the real-time protection when downloading and running FRST.
  2. Download the attachment fixlist.txt and save it to your desktop.
  3. Right-click on FRST64.exe and select "Run as administrator".
  4. Press the Fix button.
  5. The tool will now process fixlist.txt.
  6. When finished, a log called Fixlog.txt will appear in the same directory the tool is run from.
  7. Attach the logfile Fixlog.txt to your next reply.
