[SOLVED] Windows Server 2016 error 0x80073712 with KB5052006

Follow the instructions below please.

WARNING! The following fix is specific to the user's system in this thread only. No one else should follow these instructions, as it could damage your system.
  • Download the attachment SFCFixScript.txt and save it on your desktop.
  • Save any work you have open, and close all programs.
  • Drag the SFCFixScript.txt file over the SFCFix.exe executable and release it.

Thanks, PeterJ. It will have to wait until after 1700 CST since this server is in production. I'll report back when that's done.

Try to install KB5052006 again and report the result.

Update history still shows the same failures as my previous screenshot. Going into Windows Update now doesn't show KB5052006. I didn't click on check for updates - this was already being presented to me when I went into Windows Update.

In an effort to remain on track with our efforts, I downloaded KB5052006 from the Microsoft Update Catalog.

I ran into a disk space issue when trying to install this downloaded patch where I was down to 2.6 GB free disk space after downloading this patch. It's likely due to the patch being 1.6 GB and that consumed a lot of the (little available) disk space. At any rate, I've expanded the C: volume from 80 GB to 100 GB and the patch is in progress.

Installation complete, rebooted, and failed. Logs attached.
