[SOLVED] Windows Server 2008R2 - Failing Monthly Security Rollups

Hi there,

I have a Windows Server 2008R2 OS that's been failing monthly security rollups for a while now.
Latest update to fail is KB4471318 with error code 8024200D.
Also new this month is KB4336999 with error code 80044000.

I've run SFC, SURT, and SFCFix, but the issue persists.

CBS logs available here.

Any help would be appreciated!

SFCFix Script

Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop.
Download the attached file, SFCFixScript.txt, and save this to your Desktop. Ensure that this file is named SFCFixScript.txt - do not rename it.
Save any open documents and close all open windows.
On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFixScript.txt.
Drag the file SFCFixScript.txt onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
SFCFix will now process the script.
Upon completion, a log should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of this into your next post for me to analyse please - put [CODE][/CODE] tags around the log to break up the text.

Thanks. Do the following now:

Retrieve Components Hive
1. Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\Config and locate the COMPONENTS file.
2. Please copy this file to your desktop.
Note: If you receive an error that this file is in-use, simply reboot your computer and try again.
3. Right-click on this file on your desktop and select Send To...Compressed (zipped) folder. This will create a file named COMPONENTS.ZIP on your desktop.
4. The file will likely be too large to upload here so please upload to a file sharing service and just provide the link here.

Install Update with DISM

Download this update and save to your desktop. The file name will be Windows6.1-KB4088875-x64.cab.zip.
Right-click on this file and select Extract All... Click the Extract button. You can close the folder window that opens
Click on the Start button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator. Go ahead and allow if you receive the UAC prompt.
Copy and paste the following command into the command prompt window and press enter.

dism /online /add-package /packagepath:%userprofile%\desktop\Windows6.1-KB4088875-x64.cab\Windows6.1-KB4088875-x64.cab
You should receive the message:
The operation completed successfully.
Restart Windows to complete this operation. <---You may not get this line.
Do you want to restart the computer now (Y/N)? <---You may not get this line.

Go ahead and do so if prompted. Let me know what errors if any come up. If you do get errors, please zip/attach your CBS.log

That did it! Operation completed successfully.

After installing the package with DISM, I was able to install January's security rollup (KB4480970) too, so I think we're all good here.

Thanks so much for your help! If you don't mind, could you give me a short explanation of the issue for my notes? Looks like KB4088875 you had me install was March's security rollup. Was that a missing prerequisite for the rollups after it?
