Hi @Ultiman,

Welcome to Sysnative Forums!

If you haven't already, please review the posting instructions here, and attach the requested log files. Without log files, our helpers will not be able to assist, and this will slow down fixing your machine.

If logs have been already been provided, our team of volunteers will analyse the provided log files to build a fix for your system. Please be aware that this may take several days from your initial post, due to the high volume of threads that we receive.

Hello and welcome,

Which update(s) are failing ?

These updates are more than 11 years old. Has this machine not been updated for so long ?

1. Click the start button and type cmd in the search box.
2. Right-click on cmd that comes up in the search results and select Run as administrator. Answer Yes to the UAC prompt if it appears.
3. Copy/Paste the following into the command-prompt window and hit enter.
reg query HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsUpdate /s > WU.txt

4. Attach the log file WU.txt to your next reply.

this server didnt have love for many years so we are trying to fix them until we can remove it but its a legacy application so it will take time

Windows Update is set to download and install updates but apparently it doesn't.
Please do following.
FRST Scan:
  1. Download the Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop:
64-bit: Downloading Farbar Recovery Scan Tool
Note: Your antivirus program may report FRST incorrectly as an infection. If so, disable the real-time protection when downloading and running FRST.
  2. Right-click to run the tool as administrator. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
  3. Note: Ensure that the Addition.txt check box is checked at the bottom of the form within the Optional Scan area.
  4. Press the Scan button.
  5. Please wait for the tool to finish. It will produce two logfiles called FRST.txt and Addition.txt in the same directory the tool is run from (which should be the desktop)
  6. Post the logfiles FRST.txt and Addition.txt as attachment in your next reply.

we are using sccm to push updates but that server was not updated for a long time and we didnt purchase de ESU so we are not trying to installed or be sure that what can be installed as update are

Are the servers in both threads you started connected to the same sccm ?

yes they are both in the same, we have some other 2008 r2 that dont have any problem so not sure if its related to our sccm

i thin running the SURT have fixed something because after a reboot i dont see any pending or failed updates

so that one is good now

thanks

Great. Please attach the log file C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log to verify.

Ok. I assume you didn't perform a new scan as that may came up empty.
