aside from KB4534310, i also have IE 11 failing to install. I tried installing the missing prerequisite using DISM but it also failed. I would really appreciate any help as I am stuck at the moment.

aside from replacing corrupted files using SURT and installing KB4012215 via DISM, I've also done some weird stuff to it including trying to replicate a fixlist that deletes registry stuff from a similar thread using farbar (but it didn't help in any way coz i am basically throwing anything and hoping something sticks lol).

I also kinda want to just revert to the snapshot I got from production to start fresh but I guess I can just ignore all the unnecessary stuff I did.

Thanks for the update - do you mean you want to go back to a previous restore point or image backup that you took? If so this will take your system back to what you had then and all the stuff you have done since will not be included.

I am just thinking of restoring the snapshot then fix the corruption and install 4012215 just in case i made the situation worse with all my random fixes i did lol. Have you had a chance to look at the logs?

i tried uninstalling IE9 to see if it will fix the issue with IE11 but it got stuck

Let's see what the SFCFix program makes of your system as it now currently stands. Please do not make any further changes to your system until I tell you to. Basically run through steps 3 4 and 5 of the original posting instructions and then wait for me to review the data and provide further instructions.

i thought i fixed the corruptions but maybe it didnt work. i can also see 5 new errors too (c mark deployment)

i wont do anything until you have analyzed the logs. I am a bit worried that i might not be able to replicate all the stuff i did in production so let me know if i should revert the snapshot and start all over from the beginning. (i read on some old threads that c mark errors can be a pain to fix, not sure what caused it sorry)

1. Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\Config and locate the COMPONENTS file.
2. Please copy this file to your desktop.
Note: If you receive an error that this file is in-use, simply reboot your computer and try again.
3. Right-click on this file on your desktop and select Send To...Compressed (zipped) folder. This will create a file named COMPONENTS.ZIP on your desktop.
4. The file will likely be too large to upload here so please upload to a file sharing service. Examples of services to upload to are Dropbox or OneDrive or SendSpace and then just provide the link in your reply.

I have created a fix to put right your deployment errors.

Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop.
Download the attached file, SFCFixScript.txt, and save this to your Desktop. Ensure that this file is named SFCFixScript.txt - do not rename it.
Save any open documents and close all open windows.
On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFixScript.txt.
Drag the file SFCFixScript.txt onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
SFCFix will now process the script.
Upon completion, a new log should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
Attach this file (SFCFix.txt) into your next post for me to check please.

When this has completed rerun SFC /scannow and let me know the results. If there are errors please upload the CBS.log file.

The deployment errors have been fixed but the .cat and .mum files are still being fixed. I need to investigate why this is happening and will do a search for some of these files to see if they are really being replaced. Make sure the previous script file I provided is overwritten by this new one before you run it.

yeah I've been thinking about this for a while and it sucks that they are still reporting as corrupted since it took me a whole week searching for the replacement files from very old archived iso's and KBs. Here is the result from the script.

Also for the record, I tried creating a zip and running that to replace the files but they still report as corrupted.

I think I am going to need to see more of your registry to understand what is going on. I am concerned that you have old versions of these packages.

For example: Microsoft-Hyper-V-Common-Drivers-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.0.6001.18000.cat

Current versions should be 6.1.7600.16385

Please provide your CBS Hive:

Click on the Start button and in the search box, type regedit
When you see regedit on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator.
When regedit opens, using the left pane, navigate to the following registry key and select it by clicking on it once.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Component Based Servicing
Once selected, click File > Export....
Change the Save as type: to Registry Hive Files (.).
Name this file ComponentBasedServicing (with no file extension) and save it to your Desktop.
Right-click on the saved file and choose Send To -> Compressed (zipped) Folder.
Attach the .ZIP file to your next post.
If the file is too large to upload here, upload to Dropbox or OneDrive or SendSpace and just provide the link here.
