Wow! I'm quite frankly amazed that computer's still running given the number of corruptions you have. Anyway, the warmest of welcomes to Sysnative :)

However, I'm going to have to break the news to you that this is not fixable. You must have at least 500 corruptions there, if not considerably more, even after attempting to account for any repetition in all its forms. Manually, I can fix a couple, although it takes me probably 15 minutes to do it. Consequently, 500+ is not feasible for me to possibly fix. I am really, really sorry.

But my biggest concern now is that you have hardware failure. I can't see any other way for you to have got so many corruptions. Please backup all important data now, and then run HDD tests first: https://www.sysnative.com/forums/hardware-tutorials/4072-hard-drive-hdd-diagnostics.html

Please let me know the result. How old is this machine? Still in warranty?

Thank you, and I'm really sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Don't worry, we can fix it with the DVD eventually (and potentially without you having to reinstall any of your programs either). But that is not the concern now.

The deal is, if this many Windows files have so suddenly become corrupt, it means that it is likely that other non-Windows files are also becoming corrupt. Your data could potentially be at risk. This is why our focus now is not on your corruptions, but about saving your data.

First, backup all important data now, just in case. We don't yet know that this is hardware failing, but if it is, it could suddenly get worse. Best to get the backups made now, just in case.

Then, based on the type of corruptions you have, the only likely failure is in the HDD. Nothing else is likely. Perhaps you are the unlikely case, but I can only work on statistics until I get firm evidence.

Please, I would strongly encourage you to test your HDD with SeaTools for Windows: SeaTools for Windows | Seagate

Run a SMART check if available, and a short and long self test. Let me know the result. If there is a HDD failure, it's better to know early. Or better to get (some) peace of mind from knowing that it's very unlikely (but not ever completely certain) that its not failing.

Thank you!

Richard
