Windows phone 8 Nokia Lumia 520 error code 80072f8f

Please help!

I recently bought a Nokia Lumia 520, and after registering for my microsoft live id and setting up a nokia account, I am no longer able to update my phone, nor stream music, check emails, etc... because the phone tells me I have the incorrect time and date settings. I set the date and time to my current location (shanghai) and there is no automatic setting for finding the time....

thus my phone tells me error code 80072f8f and acts as though I don't know what time or date it is!

what to do? I did a factory reset of my phone, but that didn't help....

I'm at a loss!

Sure there is. At least on my Nokia 521 Windows Phone 8, I just go to Settings->Date+Time and slide the "Set Automatically" slider to "On". That way it picks up the info from your provider based on where you are at geographically.
Probably important to note that this is a U.S. T-Mobile branded phone and of course there could be any number of differences for phones made for other markets or branded as international (unlocked).
