Hi, I have a situation where we have several shares (CIFS) that have the same security groups both on the share level and ntfs (security) level.
I know by Microsoft best practice, nothing other than the "Everyone" group should be listed as "Full" on the share level and then set all my security groups on the ntfs (security) level.
But not only do we have the "Everyone" group on the share level for "full", but we also have the same security groups both on the share level and ntfs (security) level.
What is the recommendation to clean this up? If I remove the security group that is on the share level and as long as the same security group is on the ntfs (security) level, there should be no issues with those users that are in that group, no? Will it be seamless to them?
How should this be done?
(see attachment)
Thank you,
Teddy
