[SOLVED] Windows keeps installing the same security intelligence updates every time an update is searched for

Hi,

Since the 14th of July, Windows suddenly started downloading the latest security update again and again whenever it searches for an update.
I found this out when I had searched for updates and it would always come install the latest definition update, despite the fact that it had already been installed. Checking the reliability manager shows that the same update has been installed multiple times, except when a new security update comes out, then it just keeps installing that one over and over until the next update.

Wondering if this would be a problem on Microsoft‘s end, and if anyone else was having the same issue?
 
I doesnt seem like the updates fail, since everything works fine, it’s just that it installs multiple times whenever an update is searched for, for some reason

Checking the reliability monitor shows a bunch of successful installations, with each one saying:

"Installation Successful: Windows successfully installed the following update: Security Intelligence Update for Microsoft Defender Antivirus - KB2267602 (Version 1.393.473.0) (version number will be whatever the most recent version is, this is just what it said early this morning)”

I just don’t understand what’s suddenly happening. I saw a learn Microsoft thread with people who have the same issue. It’s around the same date too, from June 2023 - Now
 
Leaving the PC off till tomorrow to see what that does.
If it doesnt, im going to try clearing the windows defender history tomorrow to see if that’ll work.
 
Event Viewer also only shows the initial installation with Windows defender part. Same with the security centre, it only says the initial installation of the latest version, so I don’t get what’s happening at all.

When looking at the system portion of event viewer, it’s the one that shows every time the same security update is installed successfully.

Last thing I’ll say before someone else replies. Just now, I found out that my brothers PC is doing the same thing, it’s also downloading the latest security intelligence update again and again whenever windows searches for an update.
