Hello everyone,

I'm new here, and I just used the sfcfix tool, which I liked. It fixed a few other problems I had but didn't fix my fonts.

All text on my computer, Office, Adobe CC, etc. interestigly not Firefox and Chrome, looks like this: http://i.imgur.com/NYAS03w.png?1

This problem started a few days ago and this is what I've done so far.
  1. I run chkdsk /f - usually fixes my corruption problems.
  2. I run chkdsk /B - in my head it's like /f on performance drugs.
  3. I run sfc /scannow - told me it couldn't fix the problem
  4. I run dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth - told me it couldn't find source files.
  5. I repeated 3 & 4 in safe mode with net user administrator account enabled + I took ownership of all the files in C:\Windows & nothing changed.
  6. I run a full Kaspersky 2014 Internet Security Scan and a malwarebytes full scan. They both didn't find anything.
  7. I cleaned my registry with CCleaner and did something that ended with a tick in TuneUp Utilites 2014. It's hard to navigate software without reading.
  8. I used my Ubuntu (dual boot) to copy fonts folder to an external disk and I reinstalled all the fonts on the Windows side, this worked, until I restarted the computer and the problem was still present.
  9. I run the SFCfix.exe from this site, which fixed the issues it found. I restarted and the issue was still present.
  10. Next step is refreshing Windows using installation media, I don't want to do this because I have work software with licenses I've lost that would be removed.

I am currently sticking to Ubuntu with Windows 8.1 in seamless mode, It works fine but my battery life is abysmal and I can not do any RAM intensive tasks. I've also not used fonts from another computer because no one is running Windows 8.1 (let alone Enterprise). A zip of the default folder would be appreciated.

Any ideas? Steps I need to add to my troubleshooting routine?

Have you tried clearing the font cache?
Go to

Code:
C:\Windows\System32\FNTCACHE.DAT

Delete that file and restart, your font cache should be reset and your fonts should (hopefully) be returned to normal.
