Hello there :)

So at first, here's my story: I've got a problem with an update in my Win Update Center(Errorcode: 800F0244),so I decided to ask for help and started a new thread in the hijackthis forum. The one that helped me tould me that there is some damaged data on my laptop, wich could not be repaird by entering "sfc/scannow" in the execution-window... however, they now have problems on their website and thus my helper told me to visit this website and ask for aid here :smile9:

Here's the logfile
(I'm a little bit confused that is says there's nothing damaged, but there should be....)

I attach the CBS Data too, this one says there is corrupted data o:

I hope you are willing to help me, and I want to apologize
in advance for any linguistic mistake I may make (unfortunately, english is not my mothertoung....) :>

best wishes

Please attach C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log

If it is too large to attach:

  • Copy CBS.log to your Desktop.
  • Right click on CBS.log and choose Send To -> Compressed (zipped) Folder.
  • Attach CBS.zip with your reply.

Thanks Machiavelli :)

The Telemetry files that are reported are false positives and can be ignored, they should not cause any problems with Windows Update.

Sabi, which driver update are you attempting to install?

Oh, I thought I did attach it o: sorry, here we go.

The details about the driver are below. Every time I tried to install it via Win Update Center it wouldn't work... so I decied to search for the update myself and went to this -> https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/24696/Intel-HD-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-7-8-64-bit site. I updated the software and the current version on my PC is now 9.17.10.4229. I don't really know whether or not this was such a good idea; I read some comments which say that the latest update isn't compatible to Win 8.1... Since then I just hid the Intel update in Win Update Center, so it wouldn't bother me anymore.

Thank you two for helping me out :smile9:

Installing the latest driver version directly from Intel was a good idea, it's what I usually recommend.

Are there any other problem updates or does Windows Update work on your computer?

There is one file that should be replaced, please follow the instructions below:

SFCFix Script

Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

  1. Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop.
  2. Download the file below, SFCFix.zip, and save this to your Desktop. Ensure that this file is named SFCFix.zip - do not rename it.
  3. Save any open documents and close all open windows.
  4. On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFix.zip.
  5. Drag the file SFCFix.zip onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
  6. SFCFix will now process the script.
  7. Upon completion, a file should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
  8. Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of this file into your next post for me to analyse please - put tags around the log to break up the text.

SFC Scan

  1. Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then tap Search.
(If you're using a mouse, point to the upper-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer down, and then click Search.)
  2. Type cmd in the search box, and then right-click or press and hold on Command Prompt.
  3. Tap or click Run as administrator.
  4. When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following commands into it, press enter after each

    sfc /scannow

Wait for this to finish before you continue

    copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log %userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt
  5. This will create a file, cbs.txt on your Desktop. Please attach this to your next post.

Alright, then I'm glad I did the right thing!

I was just about to install "Definitionupdate for Windows Defender – KB2267602 (Definition 1.203.667.0)" when it tould me that an error occured during installation, but it is listed as installed software o.o... after i restarted my PC, Win Update Center doesn't show me this particular update anymore. I thought I could try installing it again after restarting, but that didn't quite work out as planned....
