Windows 8.1 Failed configuring updates

Hi Guys

I was wondering if someone could give me a bit of advise on an issue I'm having with Windows 8.1 updates. Each time I shut the computer down and then restart it it starts configuring updates then fails and keeps restarting until eventually it will actually boot back into windows but the updates don't install.

I tried running DISM and it gets to 100% then says it failed and no changes were made.
I've also run SFC and it reports that some files could not be repaired.
I've uploaded the CBS.log file to see if anyone can suggest how to fix this without having to reinstall Windows. I had to split the log file into two files as it was too large to add as a single file.

SFCFix may be able to fix the corrupt file I see in the logs automatically, please follow these instructions:

  1. Download SFCFix.exe and save this to your Desktop.
  2. Save any open documents and close all open windows.
  3. Double click on SFCFix.exe to open it.
  4. Follow all on screen instructions and upon completion, a file should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
  5. Copy and Paste the contents of SFCFix.txt with your reply.
 
There was something like 120+ updates which were failing but after manually installing them in groups of up to 15 at a time and running the troubleshooter several times I've managed to install all but 3. The main one causing issues was a Flash Player update for Internet Explorer. I had to hide the most recent one but then an older one would appear so I purged the update cache and managed to manually install the older flash player update but still couldn't install the most recent one.
I don't have access to the computer at the moment but will hopefully be able to get remote access to it tonight so will come back to you as soon as I've tried this.

program run and reported no corruption found as shown below. Will rerun updates shortly and see what happens.

Unfortunately problem still remains. PC restarts says configuring updates then fails and undoes changes. Going to try installing last few updates one at a time to see if it's one or all of them causing the problem.
 
Once you narrow it down be sure to attach C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log after attempting to install the update that fails.
 
Looks like that doesn't contain what I'm looking for, try the most recent CBS.persist file from that directory.
 
Sorry don't have access to the computer at the moment, will hopefully be able to have a look at it later this week.
