i tried downloading their windows update windows update diagnostic tool to no avail.then i came across a post where a guy with a similar problem was helped.i am hoping for the same,thanks.

yea i've tried using the system update readiness tool but the issue was not resolved.

The System Update Readiness Tool can only automatically fix a small number of corruptions, but it can diagnose many others which it can't fix. I need to collect the logfiles in order to manually fix the rest.
