Hi All,
I am currently using an Alienware M17xR4 laptop with windows 7 home premium 64bit (just over 2 years old), for the last couple of weeks I have been having troubles with windows updates, the error code that I have been presented with is 80072F8F.
After a search on Google I have been able to find that this is not an uncommon problem so I thought that it would be easy to fix, however after trying a couple of the solutions found on the internet the problem still persists.
The solutions that I have tried so far are:
1. Checking the date and time of the computer both in the windows task bar and the BIOS, both are currently set to the correct time. I have tried to re-sync the time in the task bar it only seems to work about 50% of the time (not sure if this is good thing)
2. Have tried to download the root certificate, I have read that there is nothing visual with this just double click to run it then restart your computer, however this also did not fix the problem.
After all of this I am out of ideas. Any help that can be provided would be greatly appreciated
Thanks Again,
Palando
