I have installed a copy of windows 7 starter and successfully activated it. When I try to run windows update it works to no result (never finishes). I have run the tool from here as well as my own sfc which returned unable to resolve errors. I appreciate any help interpreting these files.

Hello and welcome

Due to the precise nature of your corruption, you will receive help from a user named LiquidTension. He's one of our senior trainees here who's in his final phrase of his studies and needs to gain some real world experience in specific areas of Windows Update. This means that he'll be assisting you, but that I will first need to double check and approve his fixes before he posts them to you. If anything this is a good thing for you because it means that you've got at least two of us watching over your thread, but it will unfortunately add a slight delay between each reply. I hope that you understand and can accept the need for us to train up new members in this way in order to carry on doing what we do here, however, if for any reason you object to this setup, I will happily take on your thread myself.

Thank you very much for your understanding. We'll be with you very shortly.

Thank you for your reply, however, in the spirit of real world experience, I have installed a fresh copy of windows 7 starter in hopes of resolving the issue myself. I appear to be experiencing the same issue previously stated, but I will post a new attachment of my log tomorrow if windows still fails to initiate the updates. I appreciate your patience.

Alright, last night as i said above, I installed a fresh copy of win 7 starter on a Asus eee pc notebook. I started the auto update, disabled the sleep for the computer as well as the hdd, and went to bed. This morning to my delight i woke up to one hundred and sixtyish updates are available. So, patience is the key here, but i do believe there was a corruption on the first iso I used. You're welcome to use the attached zip or close this off. Thanks again!

Hello,

I'm pleased to hear you were able to resolve your issue. :dsmile: Thank you for letting us know.

I will mark your topic as solved.
