Hi,
I think I tried almost everything, found this forum and hopefully I'll get some help, please...
Over a year or two I cannot install any major Win7 updates (especially monthly security/quality updates). Some updates can be installed (ex. Office) but no "big ones".
I tried every couple of months, the same story. Cleaning SoftwareDistribution, sfc, chkdsk, many other ways found around the Internet don't help.
I've just freshly installed KB947821 and started SFCFix qith result below. CBS logs attached.

SFCFix version 3.0.2.1 by niemiro.

Please do the following:

Retrieve Components Hive
1. Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\Config and locate the COMPONENTS file.
2. Please copy this file to your desktop.
Note: If you receive an error that this file is in-use, simply reboot your computer and try again.
3. Right-click on this file on your desktop and select Send To...Compressed (zipped) folder. This will create a file named COMPONENTS.ZIP on your desktop.
4. The file will likely be too large to upload here so please upload to a file sharing service. Examples of services to upload to are Dropbox or OneDrive or SendSpace and then just provide the link in your reply.

There you go. I spit it in RAR, I hope it won't be huge problem.

Step#1 - Capture Process Monitor Trace
1. Download and run Process Monitor. Leave this running while you perform the next steps.
2. Try updating the system just like you have in the past.
3. Stop Process Monitor as soon as it fails. You can simply do this by clicking the magnifying glass on the toolbar as shown below.

4. Select the File menu...Save... and save the file to your desktop. This is likely the default location. The name (unless changed) will be LogFile.PML. This is fine.
5. Zip up and provide the link to the LogFile.PML file as well as your CBS.log Examples of services to upload to are Dropbox or OneDrive or SendSpace.

Step#1 - Capture Process Monitor Trace

Hi again,
Tanks a lot for your support but I have to pass here. Process Monitor provides too much sensitive data which shouldn't be published. It's kind a suicide approach these days ;)

No, it provides registry data which helps me diagnose an issue. You can see thousands of threads I've resolved using it.

Thanks for pointing on the registry thing. I left Registry Activity only (other options provide large amount of sensitive data).
Attached.
Thanks again.

Sorry, that's not going to work. I need the whole log. The registry thing was just to explain why I need the log. I have zero interest in you personal data.

Hi, Sorry for the huge gap in response, end-of-the-year case ;)
Finally I've back to this problem because it bothers me constantly. I want to stay with my Win7 mainly because each new iteration of Win10 is another PITA.
I've sent another several hours fighting withe this:
- Reinstalled KB4474419 and KB4490628 due to known cat with new SHA2 algorithms,
- Used SFCFix (of course :),
- Tried "MicrosoftProgram_Install_and_Uninstall.meta.diagcab" fixes,
- Tried "WindowsUpdate.diagcab" fixes,
- Tried KB947821 System Update Readiness tool several times,
- Used reset batch (Windows Update - Reset - Windows 7 Help Forums),
- Cleand up with %windir%\system32\cleanmgr.exe,
- Did "DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /ScanHealth.
- And probably many more...

The problem is mainly with major monthly updates, what suggests KB4474419/KB4490628 case but the problem I have was even before.
Attached CBS log after unsuccessful KB4530734 installation (CBS12.zip).
Problem here is still with known "CRYPT_E_NOT_FOUND" issue...

Moreover, I've noticed that I cannot upgrade IE11 as well.
Attached CBS log after unsuccessful KB4339093 installation (CBS.11.zip).
Problem here points to (I think) "STATUS_SXS_TRANSACTION_CLOSURE_INCOMPLETE" issue...

I tried IE11 uninstalling but it cannot be done - not possible via Add/Remove Programs, other solutions using "FORFILES..." also don't work.
WUSA uninstalling KB2841134 also finished with error.

So, basically, only basic non-o/s critical updates work.
Funny thing is that the system is rock-solid, no problem with usage at all. But lack of major sec updates scares me a lot...

Thanks in advance for any more help, sorry I bother you especially this day :)

Happy New Year :)

You too.

Thank you. Here's the first fix.

Step#1 - FRST Fix
NOTICE: This script was written specifically for this user, for use on that particular machine. Running this on another machine may cause damage to your operating system
1. Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop.
Note: You need to run the 64-bit Version so please ensure you download that one.
2. Download the attached fixlist.txt and save it to the Desktop.
Note. It's important that both files, FRST64 and fixlist.txt are in the same location or the fix will not work (in this case...the desktop).
3. Run FRST64 by Right-Clicking on the file and choosing Run as administrator.
4. Press the Fix button just once and wait. If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
5. When finished FRST64 will generate a log on the Desktop (Fixlog.txt). Please post the contents of it in your reply.

Thanks for another input.
Please find the result attached. Restart was not required. Let me know if I need to do it anyway or try installing updates. I'll stop at the moment with any actions, just in case.

Please attempt installing kb4530734 with ProcMon again.

As an FYI, Win7 support is ending very soon and I would recommend that you switch over to Win10 as soon as you can in order to continue receiving security and Quality updates for your system.
