[SOLVED] Windows 7 Pro 32 bit - SURT - installer encountered an error 0xc80003f9

Hi,

Windows 7 Pro 32 bit system.

Windows Update has a red X, claims that updates were never run. This is false.

sfc /scannow runs to completion - no corruption found.

Windows 7 Update Troubleshooter finds and fixes errors - but Windows Update still has a red X, says updates were never run.

Ran SFCFix, says everything is OK.

Now it gets interesting.

Ran System Update Readiness Tool.

It says "Preparing the installation...", runs for about 30 seconds, and then says "installer encountered an error 0xc80003f9"

Please help.

Hello and welcome! Please delete your SoftwareDistribution folder.

Rename or delete Software Distribution folder in Windows 10/8/7
