"Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations."
!!!!
Well, something sure seems better!
I will set a restore point now.
What I wanted to do was find compatible versions of the four bad files (fde.dll, fdeploy.dll, gpedit.dll and gptext.dll) and replace them.
They all had the original install dates (2014), so I figured that they haven't been modified since, other than being corrupted.
But I had no luck locating replacement files.
In a nutshell, what was the general issue?
Was Windows Update not being allowed to fix problems?
Thank you very much!
