Hi,

Can't update my computer to Windows 11 24H2 as I've been getting Download error - 0x800700c1. System specs are as follows:

Processor 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-13700KF 3.40 GHz
Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.7 GB usable)
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

Edition Windows 11 Home Single Language
Version 23H2
Installed on ‎11/‎15/‎2023
OS build 22631.4602
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22700.1055.0

I have tried troubleshooting without success by:

  1. Running the self-repair Win Update tool
  2. Using the Windows Installation Assistant to perform a manual upgrade
After installation begins, I am getting a Windows 11 installation has failed error message.
  3. Executing sfc and dism commands from a bootable Windows Installation drive:
    sfc /scannow /offbootdir=C:\ /offwindir=C:\Windows
    DISM /Image:C:\ /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
Running the following commands on a Command Prompt with admin privileges shows errors as well. Please see below table.

CommandError
sfc /scannowWindows Resource Protection could not start the repair service.
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealthDeployment Image Servicing and Management tool
Version: 10.0.22621.2792

Error: 193

An error occurred while attempting to start the servicing process for the image located at C:\.
For more information, review the log file.

The DISM log file can be found at C:\Windows\Logs\DISM\dism.log

Please find attached the CBS.zip, ComponentsScanner.txt and dism.log files attached.

Appreciate your help and hope to hear back from you soon. Please do let me know if you need anything else from my side.

Hi @bondi,

Welcome to Sysnative Forums!

If you haven't already, please review the posting instructions here, and attach the requested log files. Without log files, our helpers will not be able to assist, and this will slow down fixing your machine.

If logs have been already been provided, our team of volunteers will analyse the provided log files to build a fix for your system. Please be aware that this may take several days from your initial post, due to the high volume of threads that we receive.

Step 2. Run the following DISM command and post the result. If it fails attach a new copy of the CBS log.
