I been fighting this since i built the pc in late december, tried many many different things i could do and im kind of running out of ideas. its random, could happen in mins hours but usually many times a day, for a second the pc will freeze, mouse wont move and through the monitor speakers i hear a buzz sound like a "ZZZ". Ill provide as much info as i can and i got some links for lat results and the etl file. The etl file has it in it toward end last several seconds took while for it to record.

i have latest drivers installed AMI BIOS 7A34v1J, AMD chipset 18.10, nvidia 416.34.

I have ran mem check, ultimate windows tweaker, maxed power in settings, changed settings to performance in nvidia, and honestly more things than i can think of atm i tried xD.

this is a screenshot of 2 lat apps running and i included the Etl file which in that it was toward very end prob 5 secs or so toward end.

I can really use some help its so annoying and im not super tech savy.

It isn't? Thats wierd, thats the ram provided in the combo kit on newegg. It had everything but the harddrive in the kit.

I replaced my ram with 2 8gb ddr4 team group elite+ ram which is QVl for my system and im having the same problem still. I installed on new samsung 500 860 evo, upgraded my graphics while at it to gtx 1080 and power supply to 750 watt. Idk whats causing it and its getting to point to wishing i got out of pcs xD. Just to make sure i have everything up to date i went to official motherboard site, used msi live update and driverDR. Theres not much installed since this is a reinstall just warcraft, and windows 10 essentials. When i run latencymon i get all different kinds of results to high --- storport.sys, dxgkrnl.sys, nvlddmkm.sys.

Then try this:

  • Right-click windows start, click command prompt (admin), launch the following command:
    Code:
    cleanmgr /sageset:1
A window will be presented in which you can choose the items to delete and click ok, then cleanmgr will start to clean the drive/partition.
I'd select them all, but you can choose to avoid some options.

  • Launch the following command:
    Code:
    cleanmgr /sagerun:1
And the cleanup will start: wait until it finishes.

  • Launch the following command:
    Code:
    dism /online /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup /resetbase
    Wait until it finishes.

  • Launch the following command:
    Code:
    defrag c: /h
    Wait until it finishes.

  • Launch the following command:
    Code:
    chkdsk c: /b
    Reboot needed.

  • Are the sticks seated in dimm2 and dimm4 (the second and fourth slots, starting from cpu)? If no, re-seat them.

I done all that didnt show up any errors checked all the boxes. Also found updated ahci drivers which i think solved the storport issue but im still fighting nvidia stuff not sure why i got everything set on max performance Dropbox - newinfo.jpg Also yes the ram is in the 2nd and 4th slots. So far the stuttering has dropped, it was intermentant anyways so i might not of heard it yet ill have to report back if i rehear it. Lol of course 10 mins later i get audio buzz. it dont last as long now tho its like micro second instead of drawn out. Bz usually when im loading something up like a video or game the transition seems to make it hang for split second.

This is todays report Dropbox - 11-5.png Over weekend I did a fresh reinstall of windows 10 home. I installed optimal drivers just basic windows update files battlenet and latencymon. I don't have much on the pc right now to see if it was different program affecting it. I am almost wondering if the cpu or motherboard itself is doing this since there only hardware pieces I haven't changed out. Sorry I been so much trouble with this, its just seems impossible to find the problem. I know everything is installed right, not first pc I ever built and original set I bought was a all in one special buy kit that newegg themselves set up. Its just flustrating to have a 1k+ dollar pc sound like its dying not even a yr old.

Hmm I guess this isn't solvable, maybe its windows 10 or cause its amd. Thanks for all the help though, If I knew it was going to be this much trouble I should of stayed with intel or not got windows 10. Storport.sys ndis.sys do 100+ (100849.730 us) ms delays in games or watching videos or just scrolling through web. I guess I could do another recording cpu file though it might be very large cause its so random it could happen in 5 mins or 3 hours.

Did you try this?

To clean the interior of your machine and its components (short list... If you need more information, google is your friend):
  • If you're not handy when handling electrical components, ask it to a friend of yours or bring your machine to the Computer Repair Workshop (they won't do it for free, as you know...).
  • If you have a laptop: it could be difficult to open it. See previous point.
  • Unplug the machine from the mains (and remove the battery from the laptop).
  • "Touch bare metal of the case interior before reaching in" (I quoted Digerati, given that his English is better than mine :smile9:).
  • "Never, as in NEVER EVER, touch the electrical contacts of the RAM sticks" or every other contacts (I quoted Digerati).
  • You can use brushes, hair dryers, Compressed Air Dusters, to remove the dust (gently and carefully). It seems vacuum cleaners shouldn't be used because they could damage the electronic parts.
  • You shouldn't spin too much the fans: keep them blocked.
  • Check How to Remove & Apply Thermal Paste on CPU - YouTube (click) about thermal paste or thermal compound.
But be careful: there's the risk to bend the cpu socket pins.
  • :shame2: Don't open the PSU! Death danger! :shame2:
Don't try to open the PSU (power supply unit) to clean it: it could be dangerous given that capacitors, inside it, still hold voltage (aka potential difference, electric tension).
Thegnomesdidit said (here (click)): "a lot of PSU's i've taken apart in the past few years have a drain resistor wired in parallel to the capacitors that discharges them to safe levels within a few minutes. I would advise however, that whenever you open up any equipment that is mains powered, you assume the capacitors hold a charge".
Hence, be always very careful with it, if you open it.
