Hello,

In the past few months whenever I've tried to update Windows 10 when shutting down/restarting, it would start an update and get up to 7%, before it reboots and tells me the system can't update and undoes any changes it has made. In the Windows Update screen, it gives me the error code "0x80070003". On the side, I've been unable to update any other drivers, as well as install new ones. SFC /scannow tells me there are no integrity violations and I've tried to troubleshoot it through the built in Windows Troubleshooter, but that didn't help either.

I've attached the log files below but let me know if anything else is necessary.

Thank you for your help.

Hi @JimmityJones,

Welcome to Sysnative Forums!

If you haven't already, please review the posting instructions here, and attach the requested log files. Without log files, our helpers will not be able to assist, and this will slow down fixing your machine.

If logs have been already been provided, our team of volunteers will analyse the provided log files to build a fix for your system. Please be aware that this may take several days from your initial post, due to the high volume of threads that we receive.

Hi and welcome to Sysnative,

Upload the setupapi.dev.log file
  • Open Windows Explorer and browse to the C:\Windows\INF folder.
  • Right-click on the file setupapi.dev.log and choose Send to > Compressed (zipped) folder.
  • Now the message will appear, "Windows cannot create the Compressed (zipped) Folder here. Do you want it to be placed on the desktop instead?"
  • Click on the Yes button here.
