I know there's been numerous threads on this topic but I've tried everything everyone else has done but I am still experiencing issues with audio.

  • A brief description of your problem (but you can also include the steps you tried)
    • The system experiences latency after a while of running. It works for about an hour without any stuttering or skipping and then the latency starts to get bad. This is not caused by the audio as I have turned off the audio and I still see latency spikes using LatencyMon. This is also not caused by any specific programs as it happens when the computer is only running ITunes, nothing, Google Chrome, and games. This also happens no matter what audio device I am using, speakers, headphones, or bluetooth. I have tried just about everything I can find online to fix my issue.
      • I have checked the RAM using MEMTest
      • Harddrives using the WMIC tool and CHKDSK
      • I have checked for driver updates
      • I have changed the audio driver to the Microsoft driver instead of Realtek
      • I have disabled all audio enhancements and special effects, etc.
      • I have reviewed several posts on this forum for other options as well.
      • I have disabled all CPU power throttling
      • I have set the power settings to be best performance across the board
      • I have disabled all of my wireless internet drivers (I'm using wired) and I have changed internet cables
  • System Manufacturer? Custom build by myself
  • Laptop or Desktop? Desktop
  • OS ? (Windows 10, 8.1, 8, 7, Vista) Windows 10
  • x86 (32bit) or x64 (64bit)? x64
  • Is the OS an OEM version (came pre-installed on system) or full retail version (YOU purchased it from retailer)? Full retail version, Windows 10 Education
  • Age of system? (hardware) Built in September
  • Age of OS installation? Installed in September
  • Have you re-installed the OS? No
  • CPU AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Core, 16-Thread Unlocked Desktop Processor with Wraith Prism LED Cooler
  • RAM (brand, EXACT model, what slots are you using?) G.SKILL Sniper X Series 32GB (2 x 16GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3600 (PC4 28800) Desktop Memory Model F4-3600C19D-32GSXKB Slots a1 and b1
  • Video Card GIGABYTE AORUS Radeon RX 5700 XT 8G Graphics Card, PCIe 4.0, 8GB 256-Bit GDDR6, GV-R57XTAORUS-8GD Video Card
  • MotherBoard - (if NOT a laptop) GIGABYTE X570 AORUS Ultra (AMD Ryzen 3000/X570/ATX/PCIe4.0/DDR4/USB3.1/Realtek ALC1220-Vb/Fins-Array Heatsink/RGB Fusion 2.0/3xM.2 Thermal Guard/Gaming Motherboard)
  • Power Supply - brand & wattage (if laptop, skip this one) EVGA 600W 80 Plus Certified 100-W1-0600-K1 Power Supply, 600W
  • Is driver verifier enabled or disabled? Disabled
  • What security software are you using? (Firewall, antivirus, antimalware, antispyware, and so forth) Norton 360 and Basic Windows Security. Only Norton 360 was added.
    • I've disabled the software and I was still experiencing latency around 5ms or so.
  • Are you using proxy, vpn, ipfilters or similar software? No
  • Are you using Disk Image tools? (like daemon tools, alcohol 52% or 120%, virtual CloneDrive, roxio software) No
  • Are you currently under/overclocking? Are there overclocking software installed on your system? No, Manufacturer settings

Please see the attached zip files as requested. It appears as though my trace file is too large to attach at all. Not sure what to do yet.

That's super frustrating. It seems to have fixed the issue. Thank you so much! I'm gonna let LatencyMon run overnight with the computer running audio to see if anything else pops up with issues. I'll update tomorrow morning with (hopefully) a conclusion.

Thank you for the suggestions. I have implemented the suggestions but I am still having latency issues. Please see the attached latencyMon results from after making the suggested changes in the Bios.

Disable hibernation.
Right-click start, click command prompt (admin), type (or copy-paste) the following command in the command window (the black window that should appear):
Code:
powercfg /h off

Set your paging file to 1024MB (and reboot).

One thing I have noticed is that it gets worse with time and it leads to further lag of my system. I.e. my keyboard and mouse respond more slowly as time goes on and I start seeing lag in other areas of my computer. I've checked my computer temps using the AMD software and my CPU/GPU is not overheating.

For fun, I did it again to see what issues I'd experience with no internet. Sadly, my graphics card stopped responding when I did it with no internet but this was with WiFi disabled (should have always been disabled but I guess something enabled it) but still with LAN connection. Without the LAN connection as well, the ndis.sys was non-existent (as should be expected) but everything else was present. tcpip.sys was not quite as high in highest execution time. It was closer to <1ms. There was no difference in the wdf01000.sys driver though between no internet and only LAN.

I didn't understand if "audio stuttering" happens even without internet (you wrote latency, but I wouldn't care of it, if the audio is smooth).

If yes, please try to uninstall symantec/norton altogether (enable windows defender).
Then post the result and "fresh logs" following these instructions: Video STUTTERING, Audio CRACKS/POPS and dpc/isr LATENCY (posting instructions).
If the problem still persists, try changing your desktop location; i.e., use another electrical outlet.
Or in another house (to exclude the electrical system of your home), if feasible.
In the meanwhile, I'll check new logs (and trace).

I fixed my latency issue by doing biting the bullet and doing a repair install of Windows 10! Thank you for everything you suggested! Yes, I was getting latency AND audio stuttering. Now, I'm luckily having a new problem with, when I go to play a game, my screen goes to the random pixilation that you'd see on old TV's if you lost signal. Very static-y. New problems = new threads!
