Windows Education 20H2, monthly updates keep failing for some months now with error 0xe0000100. Tried the classical sfc /scannow and the DISM restoreHealth commands, which both fail: the sfc fails at 95% verification, and DISM at about 55%. Seems that the CBS.log has a helpful SysReadFile error for a file within the WinSXS folder (specifically: Windows\WinSxS\x86_microsoft-windows-o..namespace-downlevel_31bf3856ad364e35_10.0.19041.1_none_9aef94c8692c24e6\api-ms-win-shcore-stream-l1-1-0.dll), but SFCFix for some reason crashes unexpectedly and I didn't want to change that file on my own with another installation's that I have, may be dangerous and I have also Ubuntu installed on the last partition of the same SSD drive that Windows is installed, so I clearly don't want any harm to be done to my Ubuntu partition. I have submitted the crash and here is its log, and the CBS.zip is attached:
