Hello,

This is my first post to this forum.

I installed Win 7 Pro SP1 to my computer. Actually this was a reinstall, since windows could not be repaired. I've reinstalled three times this week, slightly different ways doing the updates, but nevertheless get about a half a dozen corrupt and unrepairable files. The Install disk is Win 7 Pro I purchased in 2012. I was reinstalling on the same PC. It's not been used on any other, but I reinstalled once in 2013. This last installation seems to run smooth but I'd like to get these corrupted files repaired before installing software, etc. The two previous installs also seemed to run smoothly. No crashes so far but I'm not doing uch with the computer without additional software.

The only thing I've doe so far is to run SFC /SCANNOW via aa boot in safe mode using the cmd and running as administrator. Also creating a text file of the CBS file, and scrolling through it.

I also ran the SFCFix.exe tool which produced this logfile:

Hi and welcome to Sysnative. Sorry for the delay. Are you still in need of assistance?

Hello,

I ran the System Update Readiness Tool (KB947821) from the microsoft link you sent, where downloaded the Microsoft Update Standalone Package. I walked away from the PC to let it do its thing. When I can back I had a popup error message "LZ Expansion Pack has stopped working" to which I clicked the OK, and the same message was there a second time which I clicked OK. There was a report the update was done. I noticed two files in the CBS folder you asked about date and time stamped for when I ran the Tool, so I have uploaded both.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

It doesn't look like you actually processed the file I provided. You need to drag and drop the file over the top of the .exe like shown below.

I see what happened. When I initially tried to download the file, my browser would not let me. All I got was a shortcut link.

Here it is after downloading the file you put in the thread:

The most recent ones are now attached. Not sure if you need both the CheckSUR.LOG AND the CheckSUR.persist.log so I attached both, since they had the same system date and time.

Zipping the file is fine however the file you sent me is old. You sent me one from May 9th.

Sorry BrianDrab. I have the current file here. I was using the upload manager incorrectly. I need to figure out how to delete the old files in the upload manager.
