[Win7SP1 x64] Issues with avast and the Windows media player having corrupt manifests

I had an issue with the windows media player. I also ran avast and then removed it. I also used the avast uninstaller several times in both safe mode and nmormal mode. I have read in several places that the avast issue is common. I am not sure if I am getting error messages pertaining to these or not.

I cant belive it that it took me this long to realize that my cbs.zip files are too big.

I ran dropped the text document on top of sfcfix.exe and it ran and said that it was uploading. Then it hit 100% in upload but I do not see the file attached. :(

I just read the part about you being able to access my files if I have uploaded them even if I cannot see them attached to my series of posts. I ran it again and uploaded it again thinking that they had to be attached to my posts. So you will have at least two of them for me.

It doesn't appear that the registry change was successful.

Would you mind trying the same steps again in safe mode?

Boot Into Safe Mode

  1. Save any work and close all open windows
  2. Restart your computer
  3. When your computer has shutdown and is just starting to boot again (on the BIOS screen that usually has the manufacturer’s logo on it) press F8
  4. Using the arrow keys, select Safe Mode and press enter

In the interim after I posted I found that TBS service was neither running nor was the file existing on my computer. I was able to extract the file tbssvc.dll and then I installed it in the windows / services 32 directory. I just ran rkill and it is up and running.

Yes I will boot into safe mode with networking and run it again.
