Hello from Germany  (excuse my english)

I installed Win7Prox64 (UEFI; GPT) at Notebook (HP650) some days ago.
I made windows-updates severel times to get up to date.
Most of updates are succesful, some failed - but then the failed ones succeded some days later.

But the updates KB3068708 and KB 3071756 still failed.
sfc /scannow -> no errors.
I installed Hotfix KB947821 (german "System-Update-Vorbereitungstool") - as Microsoft says for the error 80070490.
KB3068708 was then succesful, but KB3071756 fails again and again.

I like to get your help.
I ran SFCfix and zipped the CBS folder (and will try to complete this first posting).

My question is (of course): what should I do next?

Thanks a lot
(CBS.zip seems too long - I will follow your hints soon so submit it seperately - but: will your scripts work on the "problem"-laptop? I wrote this messages on my "email"-laptop.....)

Hello and Welcome!

Please try to install the update again. Once it has failed, please browse to C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\
Right click on the file CBS.log and choose copy, then right click on your desktop and choose paste.

Once the file has been copied to your desktop, right click on it and choose Send To... Compressed (zipped) Folder.
Please attach this zip file with your reply.

If the zip is larger than 8MB, please use a file sharing service such as OneDrive, DropBox, SendSpace, etc. and include the link with your reply.

Hello zcomputerwiz - thank you for your advice! I started to make the update again - but forgot to plug in the line to my notebook. As I returned some minutes later the notebook was off. After new boot i choose "Windows normal start". Then I shut down and boot again twice a time and did one reboot after that. (Ever before shut down / reboot I deleted the green tick in windows update (KB3071756).) I hope, windows is ok again. Now I am running the update - and windows says "succesful" ??? I just bootet again - and checked the update history: KB3071756 = Succesful. I ran SFCFix again - same data as befor ("SURT total detected corruption count: 6"; all others = 0) My CBS.zip is about 18MB - and I do not have an account at dropbox etc. But - due to the succesful update - there seems to be no need to send the CBS.zip to you.... If you are still interested, I will send it. So, for today, I am happy and thank you a lot for your time and your willingness. Greetings from germany GerAndy

Thanks for the quick reply.

I'd like to see if SURT is still detecting problems or if they have already been fixed.

System Update Readiness Tool (SURT)

Download and run the System Update Readiness Tool for your version of Windows here: System Update Readiness Tool

NOTE: If you aren't sure if your Windows installation is 32-bit or 64-bit, check here: How to determine whether a computer is running a 32-bit version or 64-bit version of the Windows operating system

This tool will take some time to complete - when it has finished, attach C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log with your reply.

Hello again
I ran SURT and it makes 1 update (but I donĀ“t know the number).
SURT ended succesful.
I started SFCfix again - and this time all counters are zero. (Last time SURT stated 6 corruption counts).
Both logs are attached.

Looks like all is ok now :)))

Thanks for your thorough support :)
