Hi there and thank you in advance,

Problem started when I tried using a new program, missing api-crt- windows runtime error. Tried installing C+ package with no luck. Then tried to run a windows update, no luck. Dove into fixing by installing updates but it appears I need to get to SP1 before I can do any of the updates . Had already run all steps listed in the instructions except for the SFCFix .

Here are the results with attached CBS log
SFCFix version 3.0.2.1 by niemiro.

It appears that it took SP1, I had already downloaded it from Microsoft. Computer is currently upgrading.
