Hi,

Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 and Control Panel – Turn Windows Features Off and On is empty. All forums seem to point to SFCFix as the solution.

sfc /scannow
shows no issues.

DISM /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth
Summary:
Found 582 errors
CBS MUM Missing Total count: 582

and first run of SFCFix seems to agree... but with errors???

Stage 1 of 6 failed on server
Stage 2 of 6
100% [===========================================================>]
Failed to create zip file with errno 2
Scan completed with warnings.
SUMMARY:
SURT total detected corruption count: 582

CheckSUR.log zipped.

What is my next step to overcome this ‘ Stage 1 of 6 failed on server‘ error?

thanks,
Jarrod

Hi @jars,

Welcome to Sysnative Forums!

If you haven't already, please review the posting instructions here, and attach the requested log files. Without log files, our helpers will not be able to assist, and this will slow down fixing your machine.

If logs have been already been provided, our team of volunteers will analyse the provided log files to build a fix for your system. Please be aware that this may take several days from your initial post, due to the high volume of threads that we receive.

Hello and welcome,

Don't worry about the error in stage 1.
Follow the instructions below please that will fix the SURT corruptions.

WARNING! The following fix is specific to the user's system in this thread only. No one else should follow these instructions, as it could damage your system.
  • Download the attachment SFCFix.zip and save it on your desktop.
  • Save any work you have open, and close all programs.
  • Drag the SFCFix.zip file over the SFCFix.exe executable and release it.

Hi Peter,

Thanks for your assistance. 'Turn Windows Features Off and On' now populates.

The bigger picture is Acronis Support have been trying to fix an install of 'True Image' for more than a year now, escalated to developers, three updated versions of installer but does not see that KB4474419 & KB4490628 are installed so quits. They use 'wmic qfe list' to check for updates which was also returning blank. This now also works and Installer runs.

Big thanks also to niemiro for SFCFix. Brilliant tool.

I have made a donation as very happy to get rid of this year long issue.

regards,
Jarrod
