Hi, I have been having the same kind of problem as this one - https://www.sysnative.com/forums/wi...-fail-error-code-8024200d-softwaremaniac.html - for several months since reinstalling Win7SP1 earlier this year: - the Rollup fails with error code 8024200D each month. The latest one is KB4462923, for October 2018. Other updates work. I am expecting the November one next Tuesday. I have tried the usual things like clearing SoftwareDistribution/catroot2, & downloading the updates manually, with no success.

Would it be possible for you to send me the file I need this week? I would really appreciate it. I am pretty confident that if you can do this for me I will be able to resolve the problem. TIA very much.

I have followed the suggested steps. Below is the output from SFCfix and the link to my CBS zip.

Thanks again :smile9:

Windows Update has succeeded in installing the hotfix kb947821 and the security update kb2813347, but I'm not going to re-try the 2018-10 rollup, which is still waiting.

  4. When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator. Go ahead and allow if you receive the UAC prompt.
  5. Copy and paste the following command into the command prompt window and press enter.

    dism /online /add-package /packagepath:%userprofile%\desktop\Windows6.1-KB4338818-x64.cab

Restart Windows to complete this operation. <---You may not get this line.
Do you want to restart the computer now (Y/N)? <---You may not get this line.

Go ahead and do so if prompted. Let me know what errors if any come up. If you do get errors, please zip/attach your CBS.log

Hi, thanks for the instructions.
Here is the result

That looks more promising, I'm running it now :)
It says it's added a package and wants a restart. I'll report back later - thank you!

The update with dism went through very quickly! Then the laptop restarted twice.
I then went to check WU again. The 6 WU updates that were there in my screenshot (above) were still there, so I tried installing them.
5 succeeded, including the rollup I'd been having trouble with; but 1 failed, with error code 800F0902, "unknown error": that one was KB3124275.
Can you advise me about that one please? Thanks very much, softwaremaniac.
I assume that next Patch Tuesday's rollup ought to work now - is that correct?

I restarted the laptop again, then there were 2 updates which appeared one after the other which each installed without needing restart;
then KB3124275 appeared in WU again, and it succeeded this time!
It needed a restart - and then another update appeared after that, and installed without needing restart.
So it's all up to date now. Thank you very much!
