Appreciate help n direction, I am at wit's end...

Built a system on May long weekend, only had HDD so installed OS on it. Hardware runs fine for a week. Then, bought Crucial M4 120GB SSD for OS, installed Win7 on it. Botched installing PCI driver link 8, tried multiple times but no avail, Intel program always gives error and does not install driver for it. (During original driver attempt I mistakenly removed DVD, and after restart the program could not find the location, and is stuck in unresolved loop).

Enabled driver verifier, BSOD cause in Windbg changes. Earlier it was always ntkrnlmp.exe, now even memory_corruption. Other than the above mentioned PCI driver, everything is updated (drivers, Windows, Microsoft security essentials, no virtual drive).

If I boot into HDD, I do not see any BSOD. So hardware (RAM) is good I think.

In SSD, it reboots anywhere between 5 minutes to few hours. SSD has TRM enabled, shows 100% health in Crystal Disk.

Attached is the BSOD reports, which have all the minidumps as well. The Verifier enabled dumps would be the June 24th dumps (only two of them, I forget time stamp).

Hi -

Check for SSD firmware upgrade - http://www.crucial.com/support/firmware.aspx?source=web

If BSODs continue, disconnect HDD; reinstall Windows 7 on SSD.

The problem does appear to be the SSD -

If I boot into HDD, I do not see any BSOD. So hardware (RAM) is good I think.

In SSD, it reboots anywhere between 5 minutes to few hours. SSD has TRM enabled, shows 100% health in Crystal Disk.

I suggest disconnecting the HDD. Install Windows 7 on SSD.

If problems persist, RMA the SSD.

Regards. . .

jcgriff2

Make sure also that BIOS is updated and that any chipset drivers (especially drivers for your drive controller) are their latest. Otherwise, yeah, this could be a bad SSD.
