Nothing helped. A clean reinstall is not really an option. Calling "wsreset" yields the dreaded "incorrect value for registry" error. Is there a way to get "wsreset" working?

I accidentally restored some of my Windows Store files from a previous backup, and it left my Windows Store in bad shape. I ended up doing a clean install since I was overdue for one, anyway. If you have system images, which I highly recommend keeping if you really feel a clean reinstall is not an option, then you can return back to a system image. I personally like to use Macrium Reflect for my system image needs. If you do not have a system image to return to, you will probably end up needing to do a clean install of Windows 10. Research suggests that there are no easy solutions to Windows Store becoming unusable if an in place, upgrade repair install fails to fix the Windows Store app.
