[Win10] SFCfix not connecting to servers

I recently upgraded to Windows 10 and realized I could not right click on fo;ders without causing Explorer to crash and shut down. I ran sfc /scannow and it reported corrupt files that could not be fixed. I then ran DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth, which could not fix the corrupt files. I downloaded SFCfix and ran it. However, I chose to run it as standalone, i.e. not to connect to the servers and the files were not fixed. I tried to run it again hoping to now try it online and connect to the servers, but was not given the option to do so. It simply ran the program without asking if I would like to connect to the servers. I tried to delete the .exe file and redownload it, but had the same issue. How can I run this program online at this point? Any suggestions?

DISM /RestoreHealth Scan

  1. Right-click on the Start
    w8start.png
    button and select Command Prompt (Admin)
  2. When command prompt opens, Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Right-click > Paste) the following command into it, then press Enter

    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

  3. When DISM finishes scanning your component store, zip up and attach your CBS log to your next post:

    C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log

If the zip file is larger than 8MB, please use a file sharing service such as OneDrive, DropBox, SendSpace, etc. and include the link with your reply.

  1. Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop.
  2. Download the file below, SFCFix.zip, and save this to your Desktop. Ensure that this file is named SFCFix.zip - do not rename it.
  3. Save any open documents and close all open windows.
  4. On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFix.zip.
  5. Drag the file SFCFix.zip onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
  6. SFCFix will now process the script.
  7. Upon completion, a file should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
  8. Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of this file into your next post for me to analyse please - put [CODE][/CODE] tags around the log to break up the text.

Looks like a couple of the files didn't copy.

Please zip and attach CBS.log once DISM completes :)
If the zip is larger than 8MB, use a file sharing service such as OneDrive, DropBox, SendSpace, etc. and include the link with your reply.

It looks like some files did not copy again, so I ran the DISM again and attached the CBS file.

I ran the script in safe mode and seemingly have the same result. Please not in the command prompt after running the script it asked me if I had the most updated version. Since I was in safe mode and my internet is linked via USB, internet was unavailable.

Let's try installing the Windows 10 Anniversary Update.

1. Download the Media Creation Tool to your desktop. Go ahead and run this. Note: Click the Download tool now button when you are at this link.
2. Accept the license agreement
3. Keep the default which is to Upgrade your PC and click Next.
4. Go ahead and run this through and let me know when complete.

Doing it this way will keep all your data and programs intact. As always though, make sure you have a backup of any critical data in case something unexpected happens.

It is about 4GB. It would probably be best to create USB installation media so that you do not have to download it again if the installation doesn't work the first time.

Hi. I noticed that the original question of this thread was not answered and am bumping it with the hopes of learning how to enable SFCfix to connect to sysnative servers after initially choosing the offline option. Thanks!
