I can select the full windows backup in restore, but when I click on that I get nothing showing at all. It looks like I am getting nowhere with this. I had thought that perhaps windows now had that drive turned back on then maybe... so I tried doing the upgrade again. Update download lots of files, got to doing the install, windows loading bar came up, system proceeded to 14% complete, then rolled back again to 7. Same error message.
Looks like this just isn't going to work out for me. Since MS has decided that they are removing Outlook support on 7 tomorrow, I have started the process of using my fresh install on a new SSD drive to put programs and data back in. Gonna be a long process. *sigh* I started out with putting the free Outlook in first, ran the installer, said I had to goto MS Store to download the program so I did that. Then it said I already owned it but it came up with Office and nothing showing. Ended up having to go to the store again, manually selecting the free Outlook, and downloaded and installed that, which finally worked.
One of the strange things though, I had the installer already in my win7 downloads and when I booted into 10 and then went to grab it from that drive, it said I didnt have permissions (obviously) but to click 'here' to get access. I did that, the progress bar went to 100% complete but no files appeared. So I booted into 7, selected the file, went to copy it to 10 downloads folder. Said I didnt have permissions but clicked continue... and 7 gave me access to 10, where as 10 gave me no access to 7.
Gotta love it... not. With that said, I want to thank you deeply for the attempts you made. I appreciate the efforts...
Gary :)
