Hi,
I have the same error on Windows 7 Profesional (32-bit) when I try to change the backup schedule ( the change of time succeeds)

I did Windows Update error 80071A90 - Microsoft Windows Help with
Start Windows Update with a clean restart of Windows

without any result.
