Last week, Microsoft unveiled
Windows 10, along with its first release of the new OS in the form of a
Technical Preview; the company also made a preview available for
Windows Server and System Center on the same day.
The Windows 10 announcement was a rather private affair, with only a handful of press and analysts invited, although
video of the event was quickly made available on YouTube. But its next event will be much more open, including a live webcast, as it turns its attentions to the cloud.
Microsoft sent out invitations today for a one-hour event to be held in San Francisco on October 20, which will be hosted by the company's CEO Satya Nadella, as well as Scott Guthrie, Executive Vice President for Cloud and Enterprise. It will start at 11:00 PT, and will be available to watch on the
Microsoft News Center site.
