Monday is of course Memorial Day, a federal holiday set aside in the USA to remember active duty military personnel who died while serving their country.
In the majority of the USA, Memorial Day also signifies the unofficial start of the summer season, especially in beach areas like I live in.
So my Memorial Day will be spent mostly at home with the kids & a barbeque as the local road traffic is bumper-to-bumper, swollen with thousands of foreign-plated cars from New York and Pennsylvania as well as inland New Jersey.
It very difficult to get around on the roads here during the summer, but most around here are grateful for the influx to the local economy.
