when i let my computer sleep/hibernate, or even shut it off, and then start it up again by moving mouse, taping a key on the keyboard or even pressing the power button, i get this screen
at the bottom of the windows logo theirs supposed to be another logo with a circling dotting thing that shows windows is loading and it does not happen and stays stuck at that screen
the only way to actually have my computer start and get to windows i have to restart the computer and then it starts up as normal,
i just finished doing a 100% system restore from scratch and its still doing it
i included the picture of the screen that it blocks to and the dxdiag

if anything more is needed ill provide
heres some extra info in case its not in dxdiag
ssd samsung as my main drive
2 regular hard drive on the side for storage/backup they were also both formated
problem started around december 2018/january 2019
for the system restore from scratch i used the one in settings, recovery, reset this pc, do not keep any files, (i made backups in those other 2 hard drives) i also unplugged both hard drives before doing the system restart, and once windows 10 was fully installed, i tried it again and the problem still persist ...
please help.... its annoying having to get up to restart the computer every times, i don't need that extra exercise... i have a knee problem..

Hi Nemesis,

Sounds and looks like your system freezes at the POST in which case it is a hardware related problem, or something's up with the BIOS.

Could you disconnect everything you don't need to start your system and start your system.

Its now a black screen with the small _ blinking top left corner
Unpluged printer, both extra hard drive and the cd/dvd , tried restarting and after the option to press DEL to go in asus bios options it goes back to the blank page
Repluged cd/dvd (nothing in it)
Same problem

Repluged 1 of the extra hard drive (does not have any windows files in it)
Back to the black screen with blinking _

Repluged second extra hard drive
(Also doesnt have any windows files on it)
Back to the black screen again... i no longer have access to windows?

Restarted again and access bios
My samsung ssd is primary as it should be
But when i click boot menue it shows Windows Boot Manager to be top, so i force click the ssd
And it goes back to black screen again

Restart again
Bios and trying windows boot manager
Goes to the windows logo and stays stuck there like before any of this black screen problems,
Now reatarting again with the restart button and not touching anything else
Back to black screen
Restart again and force select windows boot manager
It now starts up as normal...???

How old is your system?
What is the model of the motherboard?

Have you made any hardware changes since you have the computer?

I built it myself, the only parts that changed was the power supply last summer*
The ssd was added 3 years ago
Added a bluetooth dongle 2 years ago
Printer last year... thats about it
I think it has something to do with the booting sequence

Other than that the pc works like its new

Could you reset your BIOS settings please.

well now thats a first, i put it to sleep, and then move mouse/keyboard w/e to start it, 2 seconds later i'm already at the desktop, normally it had to go through a small boot up sequence O_o, i normally had it Hibernate tough but i'm fine with this, ill leave it this way for a few days and test it out and see what happens, must of been a weird bug or something that changed in my bios? doesn't make sense, i haven't played in there in at least a year

Glad to hear there's improvements.

Please keep this thread updated on the situation if the problem returns or not.

it seems to be completely fine now, dont know what happened, but now that the formating, and all the updates and programs and everything is reinstalled and finallized its all good and runs beter than before ^_^
thank you
