[SOLVED] [W7 x64] Service pack 1 reverts at 10%

Hi,

Just a little background for my problem. I've recently updated everything important available in Windows Update. The only update left now is for SP1, which successfully finishes downloading, but stops and reverts at 10% after restarting. I've tried everything I can find on Google, and still not able to update to SP1. I'm really desperate to get this fixed without reinstalling my OS, so please, if anyone has some sort of workaround or solution I'd be really grateful.

To clarify, after reboot and it starts installing/preparing the SP1 installation, it stops at 10% then starts reverting. It then reboots again and I end up with a dialogue box (after logging in and reaching my Desktop) containing this message: Windows 7 Service Pack 1 ERROR_NOT_FOUND(0x80070490)

I've seen similar problems in the forum, but I noticed the disclaimer that some solutions are only applicable for the OP so I'll just wait for my thread to be noticed.

1. Download and run the following file.
2. When it asks you if you wish to install, please answer yes. Note: It could take 15 minutes or more to run. Please don't cancel.
3. You will get an Installation Complete screen when it's done running.
4. Please attach the log from the following location. C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log
Please Note:: if the file is too big to upload to your next post please upload via a service.

 1. Click the Start button and type cmd.exe in the search box.
2. Right-click on the cmd that comes up and select Run as administrator.
3. Once you are at the command prompt, copy/paste the following line and hit enter.
pnputil -a C:\Windows\WinSxS\amd64_atiilhag.inf_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7600.16385_none_019357585ef99a63\atiilhag.inf

Let me know if it says successfully installed. If it does, try to install SP1.

It successfully installed. But the SP1 update still reverted after the restart.
