The one solution that i recommend is: http://lee-soft.com/vistart/Vistart-press-release.html Incidentally, I thank Paul Allen, Microsoft co-founder, for informing us of this program in: http://www.paulallen.com/TemplateGeneric.aspx?contentId=21

The ViStart program demonstrates some features (bugs) which are not to my liking. Am now trying: http://classicshell.sourceforge.net/ An intro to this shell is at: http://www.petri.co.il/add-a-windows-8-start-menu.htm At the present, this shell is definitely my choice, but still need to wring "classic" out (I did select the Win 8 style at the first screen.)

However, have temporarily removed so that I can become better familiar with the ins and out of Win 8 and also to continue testing and documentation on the win 8 shortcuts for which I need an unaltered system.
