We write often about attacks linked to massive botnets like Cutwail, Sality and others. But what does botnet activity really look like, were you to visualize it? Security firm Unveillance has put together this short (five minute) video to help explain.
In the video, Unveillance caputred one minute of global botnet activity between 09:00 and 09:01 on June 11, 2012. They then slowed that traffic down so that it was possible to see individual bursts of information from botnet-infected hosts around the globe.
"The activity displayed within this timeframe is that of infected hosts that are unwitting participants and victims of the botnet," Unveilance writes.
Its worth a watch!
