Hi,

As the title suggests, I encounter BSOD in a variety of scenarios. Most notably is whenever i disconnect my mouse. 100% of the time it will occur. The rest of the reasons I've stated happen randomly and not as guaranteed as the mouse disconnect. Here are my system specs:

· OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7600)
· x64
· It is the original installed OS on system
· The OS an OEM version (came pre-installed on system)
· Age of system: 3 - 4 Years
· Age of OS installation: 3 - 4 Years. I have not yet re-installed the OS
· CPU: Intel (R) Core (TM) i7 CPU Q720 @ 1.60 GHz (8CPUs), ~ 1.6 GHz
· Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTS 360M
· Motherboard: G60JX
· System Manufacturer: ASUS Computer Inc.
· Exact model number: G51J
· Laptop

Thanks in advance and apologies if I may not reply at once.

SP1 isn't installed, please do the following:
Installing Windows 7 Service Pack 1
1. Visit the PC manufacturer's website and update ALL drivers. DO NOT use Windows Update or the "Update drivers" function of Device Manager.
2. Check Device Manager for any unknown/disabled devices - if there are unknown/disabled devices, fix them with the latest drivers from the device manufacturer's website (not the PC Manufacturer)
3. Visit Windows Update and get all updates (may take repeated visits)
4. Visit Windows Update and get Service Pack 1 (usually under Important Updates). Read these notes for installing SP1: Steps to follow before you install Windows 7 SP1 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 from the Microsoft Download Center
5. Visit Windows Update and get any other available updates. May take repeated visits, but keep it up until you get several "Windows is updated" results.
If you're having difficulties with installing a Service Pack, please use the SURTool from this link: What is the System Update Readiness Tool?
Also, check out this troubleshooting link from Microsoft: Troubleshoot problems installing Service Pack 1 (SP1) for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2

I have had limited success in installing updates/Service Packs when using a "clean boot". I suspect that I'm just bypassing the problem - and that it can come back to bite me in the butt later on.

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

Hi usasma,

Thank you for your help. I am on the process of updating the drivers. I'll update the thread as soon as I get to test this out.

I noticed in your thread in Microsoft that you mentioned mousim.sys not working is caused by Blue Eye Macro. Is there a work around to this or must Blue Eye Macro have to be uninstalled?

Also, would you know what not updated driver causes win32k.sys to not work? I get that sometimes as the cause of BSOD. Thanks again.

I don't recall a post on the Blue Eye Macro, but found that TomasD has made posts referring to it.

You must first update Windows and all of the drivers that I mentioned.
If the BSOD's continue, then we'll look at the Blue Eye Macro drivers.

Although the BSOD's are a PITA for you, they're actually not all that common.
As such, there's a good chance that updating Windows and your drivers will fix this.

More info on Blue Eye Macro here: Blue Eye Macro ? Index page
Search results for BSOD at the Blue Eye Macro forums: https://www.google.com/search?q=bso...la:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&channel=sb
Installation instructions here: Blue Eye Macro ? View topic - Virtual Driver troubleshooting

Some folks speak of issues with Touchpad drivers. Make sure that you have the latest, Win7 SP1 compatible drivers installed for your touchpad.
