Hi,

I am trying to update my laptop from Windows 10 Enterprise 21H2 to Windows 11.
I got the update in Windows Update and have tried proceeding from there.
However it never completes the Installation and keeps failing. I've tried it multiple times now.

Below is the error on Windows Update.
Code:
There were some problems installing updates, but we'll try again later. If you keep seeing this and want to search the web or contact support for information, this may help: (0xc0000005)

As per the forum posting instructions, I have ran the following commands.
I have ran SFC scan, and it returns no errors.
Code:
C:\Windows\system32>sfc /scannow

Beginning system scan. This process will take some time.

Beginning verification phase of system scan.
Verification 100% complete.

Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.

I have also ran DISM without any errors,
Code:
C:\Windows\system32>Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool
Version: 10.0.19041.844

Image Version: 10.0.19044.2486

[==========================100.0%==========================] The restore operation completed successfully.
The operation completed successfully.

Hi and welcome to Sysnative,

Download the

Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop:

Download the 64 bit version: - Farbar Recovery Scan Tool Link
  • Note: Your antivirus program may report FRST incorrectly as an infection. If so, disable the real-time protection when downloading and running FRST.
  • Right-click to run the tool as administrator. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
  • Note: Ensure that the List BCD check box is checked at the bottom of the form within the Optional Scan area.

  • Press the Scan button.
  • Please wait for the tool to finish. It will produce two logfiles called FRST.txt and Addition.txt in the same directory the tool is run from (which should be the desktop)
  • Post the logfiles FRST.txt and Addition.txt as attachment in your next reply.

Hi Maxstar, Thanks for looking into this.

I have done as requested, and attached the files to this message.

Hi,

This is a business laptop with several restrictions and policies, do you have permission to upgrade to Windows 11? This because the Windows Update option is blocked by the company of this laptop.

Hi Maxstar, I had received the option to update some days ago. It doesn't seem to be there anymore.

Okay, but so far as I can see installing updates is managed by the company, so you can't install them yourself.

Okay, perhaps Windows 10 Enterprise is showing another notification.
I will mark this thread as solved.
