R Raaj Member Joined Aug 28, 2013 Posts 20 Dec 28, 2013 #1 Hi , I tried to install Windows updates for Windows Vista 32 bit OS , Failed to install all the security updates , however I'm able to install .Net updates Steps , I've done so far , Ran SFC scan Ran SURT Ran Reset Windows components fixit : support.microsoft.com/kb/971058 Renamed SD and Catroot2 folders . Cannot remove Windows install using cleanup utility . getting error like Error creating process <wscript Startmsi.vbs> Reason: cannot find the file specified Ran Hitman pro scan and ensuring PC is clean . Services are running properly . I suspect SC.exe is the faulty one as I gone through the CBS log . Please assist me to proceed further . Note : Cannot install any security software in the PC . But first, can you please tell me which computer this is. Is this the same Vista 32bit computer we fixed a couple of months ago? If it is, we need to think carefully about why it's gone wrong again so soon. Secondly, is this a home PC or are you part of a small business/PC repair shop? Thank you. Richard
