update w7 toward w10 error 0xc1900101 0x20017 safemode operation boot

The following might take several hours to complete. You can do it overnight if you like.

Click on Start - All Programs - Accessories.
Right-click on Command-prompt and select Run as administrator.
When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following command into it, press enter afterwards.
Code:
chkdsk c: /f /r
At the question "Would you like to schedule this volume to be checked the next time the system restarts? (Y/N)", press Y.
Restart the system.

Do not press any key during the restart. This will allow CHKDSK to start.
Wait for this to complete. Please note that this may take several hours. Let it run even if it looks like the process has stopped!
On completion, the system will restart automatically.

Run the command sfc /verifyonly in an elevated commandprompt and report the result.
If it fails, copy the file C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\cbs.log to your desktop.
Zip the copied file and attach the zipped cbs.log to your next reply.

Hello ok, i executed the command...
Here are the files cbs.zip and capture...for the result of the command (problems of verification of integrity)....
Thank you for all.
Perhaps the problem is a matter of drivers or of the bios which is outdated...

I don't think a problem with the bios version is causing the SFC error. A driver maybe but we don't know for sure and which one.

Remove Update Manually
  1. Click on the Start button and in the search box, type Command Prompt.
  2. When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator.
  3. When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following command into it, then press enter.
    wusa /uninstall /KB:4489892
  4. Let me know if it says it was successful or if there are any errors.

Hello, for this new command, i had a notification: this kb4489892 is not installed on the system...
You will find the capture of the screen in attachment...
Thank you for all.

FRST Registry Search
  1. Click the Start button and in the search box, type CMD
  2. When you see cmd.exe on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator.
  3. When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following command into it, press enter afterwards.
    Code:
    REG LOAD HKLM\COMPONENTS C:\Windows\System32\config\COMPONENTS
Note: This loads your components hive which is what we want. Please keep the command prompt window open while you perform the remaining steps. You can minimize it if you wish but keep it open.
  4. Right-click on the file FRST.exe and choose Run as administrator.
Note: Your antivirus program may report FRST incorrectly as an infection. If so, disable the real-time protection when downloading and running FRST.
  5. Copy and paste KB4489892 into the Search box and click the Search Registry button.
  6. When the scan is complete, a message will display that 'SearchReg.txt' is saved in the same folder FRST was started from. Notepad will open this file also. Close Notepad and attach the file 'SearchReg.txt' to your next reply.
  7. You may close any remaining open windows now.

Try the upgrade to Windows 10 again and report the result.
If it fails attach following files:
- C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\cbs.log
- C:\Windows\INF\setupapi.dev.log
- C:\Windows\Panther\Setupact.log
- C:\Windows\Panther\Setuperr.log
- C:\Windows\WindowsUpdate.log

hello,
thank you for your answer.
this evening it's too late, i will try the update to windows 10 tomorrow.
good evening and soon to contact you.
Jean Luc Ferré

Hello,
i launched the update from a usb key where was stocked the file coming from media creation tool...and running setup in administrator mode...
For the moment after rebooting the pc is blocked on the logo windows10 screen...
I am going to wait for a moment before restarting it.
have a good day.

Hello,
Here are the results...
But i didn't find the following files:
- C:\Windows\Panther\Setupact.log
- C:\Windows\Panther\Setuperr.log
- C:\Windows\WindowsUpdate.log
i just found C:\windows\setupact and C:\windows\setuperr that i joined in attached files with the others cbs and setupapi :
Perhaps this depends of the several restarts i operated...
i had to precise you that the w7 version i used is not an authenticated one (i hadn't key); in order to activate the system i had to use a winloader.exe file...and after that it works...
Several years ago i operated a migration from an unauthenticated version of w7 (after activating it with winloader.exe) toward w10 and it had worked...
Thank you for your attention.
waiting for your answer.

We don't support illegal operating systems or other illegally used programs. If this Windows 7 isn't legit I think we should stop.
If the operating system works does not mean you can upgrade successful.

Hello, here is the windowsupdate.log file that i missed...
but for setuperr and setupact i found other files in c:/windows/panther/newos/panther...but they are not indicated as modified this day...
waiting for your precisions.

Is this Windows 7 machine legit ?
It is against the rules to help people with an illegal operating system or other illegally used programs.

Hello,
Thank you for your answer even if i am a little bit disapointed...
a few years ago Microsoft agreed such system windows7 and allowed them upgrading toward windows10; i had made the operation on another pc...
Perhaps their politics (microsoft) has changed...
more, the actual bios system on the pc we were trying to correct doens't present the possibility of booting from an usb key...(that's one reason why i said that it was outdated...) But as it accepts booting from a cd-dvd; i will try the upgrading process with the file coming from "mediacreationtool" after writing this file on a dvd...
i don't understand why there are not the files (setupact and setuperr) in c:/windows/panther...in a previous try i had them...
Thank you for all.
