For one thing, the "search for update" thing just loads forever, and causes frequent crashes if I try to use the control panel for anything else. This persists until I stop the service.

I also have a duo of errors that I've tried and failed to get rid of:

Windows Update Error 0x8007000D(2016-03-29-T-02_21_26P) and (2016-03-29-T-01_13_54P)
and
Cryptographic Service Components are Not Registered.

I've tried running a batch file that was supposed to fix the problem. The errors no longer show up as being a problem, but the "search for update" thing still loads forever and jams up the system whenever I use it. I've tried disabling my antivirus and firewall, but that helps nothing.

what.JPG This popped up at one point when I tried to stop the update service to un-clog the system.

And finally, my system things:

Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1
AMD FX-4130 3.8GHz
16.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 663MHz (9-9-9-24)
ASRock 970 Extreme4 (CPUSocket)
2048MB ATI AMD Radeon HD 7800 Series (ASUStek Computer Inc)
119GB SanDisk SDSSDH2128G ATA Device (SSD) (Windows installed here)
931GB Western Digital WDC WD10EZEX-00BN5A0 ATA Device (SATA) (Everything else installed here)
ESET Smart Security.

I feel its also worth noting that I've had updates disabled since maybe two weeks after Win10 came out. Because I heard stories about some people's PCs just automatically updating to Windows 10 without their say so.

And finally imma attach the .bat file that I used to allegedly fix the issues. (but not) View attachment Reset_Windows_Update_Full.bat

I'm about out of ideas for fixing this BS. Maybe one of you fine people will know how to fix this tangled mess.

I'm just now reading the FAQ thing. SFCF huh? Aiight. T's worth a shot. Running now.

Here's the CVS thing. ... ... ... It won't upload. Well fine. I'll just use Megaupload or something. O wow. Its a 70MB file. That would probably explain it then.

Uploaded. take that, internet. CBS

Now to try the update again.

Its checking. ... ... Still checking.. ... Imma go order a pizza.

[the time it takes to order, cook, pick up, and eat a pizza later]

Still checking. Yep. I don't think it worked. At least I solved my hunger problem though.

I don't know what do. At this point my only idea is to stick a band-aid into the disc drive and hope for the best.

Funny thing about that. I think my "band aid in the disc drive" thing actually worked. Even though the computer was still searching forever, after I gave up and just went to play video games the rest of the night, I shut down my computer and BAM. Updates start installing.

Now the system is fine, and I have no earthly idea how or why. That seems to happen to me a lot. Problems just up and fix themselves.

Now for me to ignore updates for another five months and then come back crying again. Seeya then, and thanks for the help. :)

Glad to see that your issue has been solved Magnus!

And no problem, you're welcome :)
